11:00 AM 1st Annual VARD Golf Tournament at Huntsman Springs
&nbsp;<!--StartFragment--><p>Valley Advocates for Responsible Development (VARD) is teaming up with the Golf Club at Huntsman Springs for the First Annual VARD Golf Tournament on Friday, September 3, 2010. Experienced to novice golfers will have the opportunity for 18-holes of tournament play at the magnificent 7,331-yard Huntsman Springs course designed by world-renowned architect, David McKay Kidd. Resting in the shadows of the scenic Grand Teton and surrounded by beautiful natural terrain, this tournament offers a unique opportunity for the community to kick-off their Labor Day weekend by playing at the award-winning, private golf club, while contributing to a charity event for VARD.</p><p><span style="font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,Helvetica,Arial;"><span style="font-size: 9pt;"> <br /> Proceeds from the golf tournament will be donated to VARD for their &ldquo;Reshaping Development Patterns&rdquo; project, a joint effort between VARD, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and the Sonoran Institute. 9:00 PM Lukas Nelson & the Promise of the Real

<p>Grand Targhee Resort and Grand Teton Races are teaming up for a world-class endurance race in the Tetons over Labor Day Weekend. In its sixth&nbsp; year, these races offer a choice of distances: a trail marathon, a 50-miler and a 100-miler. A 10K will be offered for those who want to tackle a shorter distance. Each race will utilize the same 25 mile loop consisting of single track and service roads, with three miles of pavement per loop. A kids fun run has been organized for young runners.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>All 100 mile participants are required to complete a minimum of eight hours of trail work or volunteer service at a trail race.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Registration for the 2010 Events closes on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 (registration for the 10K closes on Friday, September 3rd.) <p>Volunteer on a Habitat for Humanity <em>A Brush with Kindness </em>project this summer!</p><p><em>A Brush with Kindness</em> is a program of Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Teton Area that helps low-income homeowners by offering exterior home improvements at low cost. Volunteer teams work to improve the condition of homes by painting, landscaping, and performing minor exterior repairs at minimal costs to homeowners who would be unable to complete home repairs on their own.</p><p>Volunteers are needed to help with projects Saturdays throughout the summer! No experience is necessary!</p>
